How can I enter in graphic design? Exeperiance but not education?
I did not do graphic design in college, but over the years I have acquired sufficient knowledge to design two different websites ( "a fun and creative" other "Proffesional, information ") and various logos, brand images, booklets, etc. for the high representative of the university I work. I have also done a free with several individuals in designing birth announcements, web banners, etc. I will not try to change jobs and then end up feeling like I'm drowning in work graphic design without adequate preparation. I have friends who went to college graphic design and would kill to get contracts for things I could get through my work, just because I was accessible and free. My experiance make education? Or would I be suffering if trying to get a job that was the focus of her more graphic design?
Sometimes the experience can sub for education. I am currently in school for graphic design, I know that some of the Immaculate graphic designers who have skills they have chosen not to go to school. Spending money on text that will take you step by step. At school, use the Adobe Classroom in a series of books. Teach yourself the industry standards. Get involved with independent sites like 99designs.com and enter a competition (and paid if you win). You will learn a lot by watching how the work of today's designers. I've been in the field for 5 years before going to school for graphic design. Design is what they do ....
