What is a good program to learn the basics of graphic design?
I'm in real estate and I would be able make my own designs, design, etc. .. I'm looking for capable of doing my own design for postcards, brochures and mailings. In the past, I used MS Word, Publisher and another program called Business Publisher Design date. I have a MAC, and you can not buy one. I'm looking for something affordable, easy to learn and use and reliable. Thank you!
Although Adobe Photoshop is a good program to use for working with images, programs like Adobe InDesign and Illustrator are much better for what is looking to do is put things. However, as you said you wanted something affordable I look at some scrapbooking software, allowing you to arrange the elements such as photos and text. You do not need a MAC to design things is more of a preference. Especially since you are not a designer does not really matter. I prefer a MAC although I have used a PC much longer. I just found more easily treated and do not crash on me.
