Getting the money?
I am a freelance graphic artist and recently asked to design an invitation for a client. The customer is not me gave no information about inviting others to date was already underway. She is now well beyond the time of printing, copying has changed 6 times making time at work over 10 hours. I asked her to pay me at least part of what I should and my rates have been discounted to their ... She is avoiding my calls, and he said that is talking to another graphic artist ... What is my appeal on her I paid for my time. I sent an invoice and email about my rates and time spent in the project. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
This sounds like the only way they get any money from it is by putting it into claims court. If you do not want to go to court just chalk the time devoted to the experience and lessons learned. After this I suggest you start asking for a deposit considerable advance on the understanding that the deposit is yours to keep, regardless of the outcome of the project.
