I need advice for my graphic design class?

My job says Create an illusion of space in 2D surface lines. Nothing figurative! Summary only. I have nooo idea where I could start or what I could do. Anybody any idea? advise? Any examples?

Tip 1: A series of lines parallel. a line over another, but shorter and thinner. The next line above that is shorter and thinner. And so on for the following above. These lines do not need to represent something specific, but the illusion is that these lines exist in a space away from the viewer. Sugggestion 2. Formless, shapeless bubble in the foreground. " Another, smaller and partially hidden by the first. The latter is also paler color and a little "out of focus." (You do not mention that his "lines" We all have to be very precise. You could consider a third, "rear" the second, more opaque and more blurred. Once again, the illusion is that the space between the viewer and the first and most space still exists beyond that. # 3: Simple circles or random closed forms. One way partiallly obscures another. You can repeat this over its composition. While it is clear that the "obscrured" is clearly the way one way to close their own, the fact that another Shap is capable of being "ahead" of another suggests that "space" is if there is a margin of these forms that are "stacked" in front of each other. Play with these concepts and then strike out on their own with their ideas. Imagine how a wisp of steam could partially hide the furthest edge of a cup of coffee. Imagine a splash of water to partially conceal his creation ..
